Gülhane Park is a historical park in the Eminönü district of Istanbul. During the Ottoman rule, the park was on the grounds of the Topkapı Palace. This outer garden consisted of a wooded area and a rose garden.

The Istanbul Museum of the History of Science and Technology in Islam, which was opened in May 2008, is also located in this park. The museum holds replicas of inventions from various disciplines, such as astronomy, geography, naval science, chemistry, physics, mechanics, geometry, war technology, optics and clock technology.

Blue Mosque (Sultan Ahmed Mosque)

This mosque, which has six minarets, is the largest mosque in Istanbul. It was built between 1609 and 1616 during the rule of Ahmed I, by the architect Mehmet. The building is more commonly known as the “Blue Mosque” due to its magnificent interior panelling of blue and white Iznik tiles. The inside of the mosque is 53 meters high with a 26.50 meter wide dome. At the rear, there is a courtyard where the tomb of Sultan Süleyman’s  wife can be seen.
